Go Vegan Today to be Healthy Tomorrow

There are plenty of reasons to consider a vegan lifestyle. However, going vegan doesn't just affect you, because it's a lifestyle choice that can also have a significant impact on the health of the planet.

If you're looking to make changes in your life today so you can enjoy a healthier tomorrow, then going vegan is a compelling decision that could be life-changing as well as world-changing, here's why:

Studies Show Vegan Diets are Healthier

There have been many studies on the effects of a vegan diet on a person's health, with most concluding that it provides several health benefits.

Most of the world's population does not consume enough fruits and vegetables, and a well-thought-out plant-based diet like veganism is all about consuming food that grows in the earth.

Vegan Nutrition report on a study  [* https://www.mdpi.com/2072-6643/11/1/157]  that states a vegan diet promotes the development of certain gut hormones which help to regulate blood pressure.

Other studies show that vegans suffer fewer heart attacks, are generally leaner, and are less prone to obesity than their meat-eating counterparts.

Vegan Lifestyles are Environmentally Friendly

There's a lot of food being grown that doesn't make it onto the dinner table because it's destined for animals. Seventy-percent of grain in the US is headed for livestock silos. Also, a whopping 83% of farmland is set aside to raise livestock animals.

The estimates say that there could be an extra 700-million tons of food available to humans if we weren't using it to raise animals. Without even discussing the damage livestock does to the earth and the atmosphere, that's a massive stockpile of food that could go towards easing some of the world's hunger population.

Clearing farmland to fill paddocks full of cows, pigs, and sheep also contributes a lot of greenhouse gases to the atmosphere, which we could all do with a little less of these days.

So, if you're considering a vegan lifestyle or diet, you won't just be creating a healthier tomorrow for yourself, you will also be playing a small part in creating a healthier planet.
